STUDENT SUPPORT

We understand that you may need additional help whilst you’re learning. This may include support with childcare, finances, travel or support with your health and wellbeing. Talk to your tutor about how you can access:

Course Funding*

Many of our courses are fully funded if you are earning a low wage or claiming any means-tested benefits.

Childcare Support*

Whether it's at our on-site Nursery or a childcare provider close to home, we can help you to access funded childcare to allow you to attend your course.

Financial Support*

We work with the Smallwood Trust to provide grants to women to help them overcome financial adversity and improve their social and emotional wellbeing.

Counselling and Wellness Support*

In these ever-changing and challenging times, it is essential that we take the time to maintain our mental health and resilience. Our students have access to The Wellness Centre at Blackburne House which works to improve the health and wellbeing of women by providing access to professional counselling, wellbeing and mindfulness services.

Learning and Access Support*

We provide specialist support for students with specific needs around learning and access to learning. This may include access to I.T. learning support for specific needs such as dyslexia and specific learning differences, physical disabilities, hearing or visual impairments.

Entrepreneurship, Employability and Further Study*

Our courses are designed to improve your knowledge, confidence, resilience, entrepreneurship and employability skills. Support is available with UCAS forms, we work alongside local employers and job centres to improve access to employment opportunities and we are home to the School for Social Entrepreneurs North West which supports the development and growth of social enterprises.
