Together We’re Making a Difference - This £3000 Will Change Lives

We’re thrilled to share that the Friends of Blackburne House lottery has raised a fantastic £3115.80 - money that will directly support women in Liverpool to access education, wellbeing support, and the confidence to build a brighter future.

Your weekly tickets create and real and lasting local impact. At Blackburne House, we know that education is transformative. But too often, the women we work with face huge barriers: mental health challenges, financial hardship, childcare pressures, or simply a lack of belief that they belong in the room.

Each lottery entry costs just £2 a week – and as stated by Blackburne House CEO, Andrea Rushton,

This support means so much. It’s access to safe, inclusive learning spaces. It’s support through life’s toughest moments. It’s one more woman believing she can take that next step, return to education, or change her path. This money will help fund the kind of wraparound support that lifts not only individual women, but entire families and communities. Whether you signed up last week or you’ve been a Friend from the start, you’re helping us rewrite stories. You are part of something bigger.

One of our marvellous Access to HE students, Sophie, began her journey at Blackburne house 3 years ago. She found Blackburne House was different to

other places of study and having heard so many great things, she said "I just knew I needed to begin my new journey in such a lovely environment. I could see myself excelling and achieving in this environment alongside the endless support of the tutors." Sophie never imagined herself going to university, but after all of her hard work and the support of Blackburne House, she will be starting her Bachelors degree in Childhood & Youth with Psychology in September. She is a shining example of the women you can support by becoming a Friend of Blackburne House.
