This month, we say a fond farewell to Clatterbridge, as the Blackburne House Café makes way for an all-new provider.

For the past five years, the Blackburne House Café at Clatterbridge has been more than just a place to eat. It has been a unique partnership between Blackburne House and The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, bringing together good food, community spirit, and meaningful social impact.

Every coffee poured, every meal served and every smile shared supported not only the patients, visitors and staff at Clatterbridge, but also the wider work of Blackburne House. Together, we championed health, wellbeing and education across our community.

The Blackburne House Café at Clatterbridge first opened its doors at the height of the COVID pandemic. During this incredibly challenging time, the team provided an invaluable service, ensuring that staff and patients had access to food and refreshments when they were needed most.

We are extremely proud that the Blackburne House Café at Clatterbridge:

  • Placed customer care at the heart of everything it did

  • Used locally sourced ingredients and supported independent businesses

  • Served delicious, affordable meals that promoted healthier choices

  • Reinvested all profits back into the work of Clatterbridge and Blackburne House, improving health outcomes, wellbeing and education for local women

  • Used eco‑friendly packaging, choosing biodegradable and recycled options wherever possible

As a social enterprise, the Blackburne House Café at Clatterbridge existed for people and purpose, not just for profit. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Clatterbridge, the café team, and everyone who chose to visit us. By eating with us, you directly supported patient care and helped create opportunities for women across our local community.
