Teacher Training – Level 4 Certificate in Education

This Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CTLLS) aims to develop practical teaching skills and prepares teachers to work in a range of contexts. This qualification will give you the necessary understanding of roles and responsibilities of a teacher in relation to aspects such as legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners.

You will study a range of units covering aspects of Teaching including:


  • Delivering education and training.

  • Using resources for education and training.

  • Assessing learners in education and training.

  • Planning to meet the needs of learners in education and training.


  • You will need to be 19+, have Level 3 Award in Education (or PTLLS) and have Level 2 Math’s & English qualification.

  • There is a requirement for a minimum of 30 hours of teaching practice for this qualification.

  • Acceptance onto this course is subject to successful guidance interview & assessment


  • 20 weeks


  • NCFE


  • For each unit you will be required to provide written evidence to satisfy the learning outcomes. This will consist of a range of formal written academic assignments, documentary evidence such as schemes of work and lesson plans, and in class presentations. You will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence. In addition, you will be observed during the course - by the course tutor.


Once you have completed this course, you can progress onto the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or go straight into employment
