
Access to Higher Education – Social Science
Access to Higher Education (HE) Diplomas are a well established set of qualifications designed for people who do not have the qualifications to enter a university level course but who do have life experience and a willingness to learn. The courses are designed for mature learners (16+) and enable us as far as possible to put together a programme of study which best suits their needs. This course is suitable for anybody who wishes to enter a wide range of Social Science opportunities including; probation, forensics and counselling.
This course is designed to give students the opportunity to gain the necessary academic qualifications for entry into Social Science and Higher Education courses.
You will study a range of units covering aspects of Social Science including:

Psychology

Sociology
-
Criminology
Together with units in English, personal development and research skills aimed at preparing learners for study at undergraduate level
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need to be 16+

You will need to have GCSEs in Math’s and English (Grade C or above or be willing to do them) or Functional Skill Level 2 as universities generally require these qualifications

This Access to Higher Education course in Social Science gives you the academic qualifications to University and opportunities for careers in counselling, forensics, mental health, the police force and many more. It can also be used to gain entry into other applied social science degrees.
