At Blackburne House Nursery we work to the Early Learning Goals set as part of the Foundation Stage for children aged 3 years to the end of their reception year. This stage is so called because it gives children secure foundations for later learning. The Early Learning Goals are divided into six curriculum areas, which are:
1. Communication, Language & Literacy
2. Mathematical Skills
3. Personal, Social & Emotional Development
4. Physical Development
5. Knowledge & Understanding of the World
6. Creative Development
Both the blue and green rooms work to a half-termly theme, which is broken down into a weekly plan of activities and these activities reflect the six curriculum areas of children's development and learning.
Activities for children aged under 3 years are structured around the new government framework ‘ Birth to Three Matters', which supports children in their earliest years.
Further information both on early Learning Goals and ‘Birth to Three Matters' is available on request. |
