Returning to education can be daunting, especially if you haven't studied since school. You need to fit your family and home life in with your study. You may also be anxious about keeping up with the work. We recognise these concerns, and can give you the help you need to overcome them.

The starting point is to come and talk with us, so we can discuss where your interests and aspirations lie and give you guidance about the courses we offer that would best suit your needs and abilities. We can also explain the support systems we offer to help you complete your studies successfully.

Choosing the Right Course

We offer long and short courses to suit a variety of women, with subjects including internet skills, technical computing and personal & professional development, as well as ESOL and basic skills. Courses vary from basic to advanced level, and run from as little as five weeks to a full academic year - for full or part-time study. Individual choice of modules is possible in order to acquire specific skills, or students can opt to take several courses, either together or one after the other, to build up a whole range of skills.

All courses lead to nationally recognised qualifications.

We want you to have the best chance of succeeding in your studies during your time with us, so we provide a support system that gives you every opportunity to make the most of your time here. As a student you will receive:
  • Individual advice, to help you choose the right course
  • A full induction to welcome you to and introduce you to the
    many opportunities available to you
  • Highly qualified and experienced tutors
  • Industry standard technical training using the latest equipment
  • An individual support tutor
  • Free computer and internet use in the Library
  • Help with childcare expenses
  • Library information service
