Thursday 12th July saw the annual main graduation at Blackburne House. The much anticipated day marks and celebrates the hard work and achievements of our students throughout the year and is always an incredibly moving, inspirational and joy filled day.

Guest speaker Elaine Owen, Chair of The Women’s Enterprise Forum as well (as The Wirral Digital & Creative Forum, Google Amabssador, Director of Women in Business, and Managing Director of Designated Design & Digital Marketing and Designated Associates), kicked off proceedings with an empowering speech on the true value of having an unshakeable faith in your own abilities – how truly great women are at overcoming adversity and starting all over again. This then led into moving and awe inspiring tales from our student speakers – the situations and circumstances they have overcome to now be graduating with valuable qualifications and full of possibilities. Then came the emotional official presentation of certificates by Blackburne House Chair Lizz Cross, CEO Claire Dove and Elaine Owen, including the Student of the Year awards – voted for by fellow students.

After poetry readings, student speakers and a closing speech from our CEO Claire Dove everyone headed for a delicious lunch provided by Blackburne House Cafe Bar and a good old fashioned celebration!
