There was standing room only as Blackburne House marked Independence Day by officially launching their new Work Club on Wednesday 4th july 2012.

Guests were treated to several inspirational and moving talks from Blackburne House Student speaker’s and Clive Morris of Job Centre Plus and Claire Dove CEO of Blackburne House Group also took to the floor to declare the Work Club officially open.

The Blackburne House Work Club will deliver an imaginative and interactive series of sessions to assist with the career development of women looking to enter / re-enter the job market.  It will be a free resource that aims to inspire and motivate women so they can build valuable careers in the midst of this recession and beyond.

The Blackburne House Work Club will be an important addition to the range of services already offered by Blackburne House and will enable the organisation to provide a truly holistic service. Helping women with few or outdated qualifications to become completely job ready.

Club members will be given the opportunity to thoroughly investigate the local job market, with the support of local experts and employers, and update their CV, to maximise their potential.  There will also be opportunities for employers to become involved in the work club, to advertise any vacancies and meet potential employees

The first weekly Work Club drop in session will be on Tuesday 10th July from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.
