Blackburne House launch Liverpool’s first weddings with a social conscience

Blackburne House on Hope Street in Liverpool’s beautiful Georgian Quarter is set to launch its ‘Weddings with a social conscience’ at their first Wedding Fayre on Saturday 31st March 2012.

Without cutting back on style, quality or luxury, Blackburne House provides a wedding & Civil Partnership reception package for considerably less than many of the city’s major Wedding venues. The added bonus of a wedding or Civil Partnership at Blackburne House, with its grand sweeping staircase and light airy rooms full of character and history, is that any money you spend on your wedding goes into helping the educational heart of Blackburne House to complete its aims. Blackburne House Education provides courses, training and support to local Women who may not otherwise have the confidence or financial ability to re-enter education, as well as for those wishing to change career or advance in an existing career. To put it briefly, your wedding could help to get vulnerable women out of poverty and into employment, giving them financial independence to support themselves and their families.

Blackburne House invite you to attend its first Wedding Fayre,  sample the award winning food from its in-house catering team, as well as view the building itself, and the newly renovated Eleanor Rathbone Hall. The Wedding Fayre will also be a fantastic platform for many local small business involved in the weddings industry to showcase their wares. A few of Blackburne House’s Social Enterprises will be involved on the day, visitors will be able to sample the wares and find out more about The Health Place (Hope Street’s first Spa for Women) and Brava Design (Liverpool’s only social enterprise print and graphic design studio).

On the day, visitors will be able to view the wares of and talk to stall holders from across the weddings and Civil Partnerships industry including:

  • Catering
  • Cakes & Desserts
  • Bridal & Grooms Fashion & Accessories
  • Live Entertainment & Local DJs
  • Wedding Stationary
  • Favours & Gifts
  • Flowers & Theme Decoration
  • Beauty and Hairdressing
  • Vintage Cars

The Wedding Fayre opens at 10am and closes at 4pm and will be just £3 per guest on entrance. Each guest will be offered a free glass of Kir Royale and a range of food samples.

One of the highlights of the day will be interactive fashion shows, highlighting the design work and items from local boutiques alongside more established fashion retailers.
