In this increasingly hectic world it can sometimes be hard to escape the stresses and pressures of daily life and make some time to truly relax.

Health studies now show that even a short amount of time spent meditating can have a host of health benefits – both physical and psychological.

Mary McAleese, Meditation for Health tutor at Blackburne House’s Health Place, teaches the practices of breathing, relaxation and mind stilling techniques which promote balance, peace and healthiness in mind, body and spirit.

As a social enterprise, The Health Place believes that healthy activity should be available to all women, whatever their age or level of fitness. Unlike most health facilities, we offer concession rates on all our activities which enables women who are unwaged or on low incomes to participate.

Starting on Tuesday 24th April 2012, Meditation for Health – Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation will allow participants to experience a range of practical meditation techniques, helping them to learn to relax, to develop inner calm and peace and progress in physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Tuesday Day Group; from 24th April, 11am to 12.30pm

Wednesday Evening Group; from 25th April, 5.30pm to 7pm

Price: £60 (£40 concessionary rate) for 8 sessions.
