September 2011 has brought a beautiful reward for all the hard work put in over the past year by the skilled team of bee-keepers from the Liverpool Women’s Institute and Blackburne House.

The honey is a lovely dark colour and has been successfully taste tested in cakes which went on sale from Blackburne House Cafe Bar at  the Hope Street Feast on Sunday the 18th September.

As our bees are fairly new in bee-keeping terms we have only a small amount of honey this year. We have however been able to supply jars to a local natural cosmetics company, and shall be entering products and jars into competitions at the Lancashire Honey Show which is being held at Blackburne House in October.

If you would like more information on Hope Street Honey, to come and visit the bees or find out more about the work we do please contact Lesley Reith on 0151 709 4356 or email
