Blackburne House Cafe Bar are to host a fortnightly live jazz evening from Friday 21st June. The evening promises to be a chilled out affair with beautiful life jazz guitar provided by The Hot Club of Knotty Ash – and their guest performers.

Gypsy jazz (also known as gypsy swing or hot club jazz) is a style of jazz music often said to have been started by guitarist Jean ‘Django’ Reinhardt in the 1930s. Django was foremost among a group of Gypsy guitarists working in and around Paris in the 1930s.

Gypsy jazz is thriving today, with fans and practitioners — some faithful copyists, others innovators — found all over the globe.

Blackburne House Cafe Bar invite you to come down and enjoy an evening of great food, brilliant music and good company.

Friday 21st June will feature Liverpool’s very own Micky Dunne.

Entry is free on the night – tables can be booked by calling 0151 708 3929.
